"Do Not Worry"

Jesus & I are super close!
One of the many perks of being close friends with Jesus is the pressing urge to worry when life becomes messy slowly disappears over time. Recently my Husband & I have gone through some unemployment drama, I'll spare you the boring details & the "poor us routine" because...
there's nothing to tell, there is no poor us song & dance. When you're friends with Jesus he's got that sort of stuff all worked out so that you don't feel the need to worry. I know some skeptics are reading this right now thinking that just sounds psychotic, how can you possibly go through the trials & tribulations of life without worrying at all???
Let me tell you, or perhaps Jesus should, He's a very profound speaker & he gets straight to the point!

"I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest? Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well. Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also"
Luke 12: 22-34

Here is a great example of how reading the bible daily is our passage to a living breathing word from God & whatever it is that we are enduring in life, comfort awaits us in his word. My Husband & I drew great strength, hope & courage reading the living word during our storm. We took tremendous comfort in knowing that if the birds in the sky are cared for, loved & have what they need to live, then we do to. All of the "things" we deem important in our lives, just aren't as important as we give them credit for. As soon as we changed our perspectives on what is important & what isn't important life changed. Instead of worrying about the have not's we focused on the have's & we found ourselves sitting in the eye of the storm, where things were calm. We still had to endure the storm but we faced it calmly. Jesus put peace in our hearts, gave us wisdom & great perspective.

My prayer for those whose hearts are aching, I know that our "unemployment drama" might pale in comparison to whatever trial you are facing at this very moment but please know that my heart is with you & that you are not alone in suffering. Comfort awaits you in a living word of truth. Everything in our world changes so swiftly that at times it can be hard to keep up with. One thing that NEVER changes & will NEVER change are the words of the Bible. There are fantastic truths in it that are here on earth for us to draw strength & courage from when life becomes challenging. I encourage you to read some words to help soothe wounds, to persevere & to overcome.

PS. Thank-you Jesus for your encouragement, peace & love.
PPS. God answers prayers! Our family helped us through the storm with love & support & My Husband got a job that is better than the one he had!
